Dr. Tara grew up in the midwest, but Bible school brought her to Texas. Shortly after graduating from Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, TX in 2003, she went on a medical mission trip to Haiti led by an Ob/Gyn who trained midwives in a Haitian birthing center. She witnessed multiple deliveries in less than ideal surroundings, but enjoyed loving on mamas and babies until they were released. She knew she was called to be a Chiropractor during that trip.

One day, a dear friend of Dr. Tara’s, who was a spiritual father figure in her life, called to share a “God word” with her.  He said, “I don’t know what you’ve been praying about, but the Lord says, ‘I’ve got your back!’”  Her friend didn’t know that she had been praying for confirmation of whether she should take on this big endeavor of going to Chiropractic school.  Her friend’s words were enough to show her God’s sense of humor and that He was in fact confirming her path.  So knowing in confidence that ‘God has her back,’ she began the journey.

Dr. Tara graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic, a Bachelor’s in Anatomy, and a Bachelor’s in Health & Wellness from Parker College of Chiropractic. While interning at the Dallas VA, she had the honor of serving several Veterans and co-managing their care with other hospital physicians.

After graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic, Dr. Tara opened Sozo Chiropractic & Wellness, LLC, in January 2011, in Southlake, TX.  She loves educating the public about how Chiropractic allows their body to express optimum life potential, especially after the stresses that come with pregnancy and birth. She is privileged to currently serve in the Grapevine Birthing Center.
